CHIEF Minister Tony Brown has announced a cabinet reshuffle.
Martyn Quayle MHK (Middle) moves from Home Affairs to Tourism and Leisure, replacing Adrian Earnshaw (Onchan) who takes over at Home Affairs.
The changes took effect from 2pm on Monday.
Announcing the changes, Mr Brown said he had decided to review his ministerial team 19 months after he first appointed them.
He said he was satisfied that it would provide an opportunity to give 'wider experience' to the two ministers involved.
Mr Brown added that he was 'satisfied that his team of ministers was working together well and that the team had developed and were acting cohesively in the best interests of the Island' - he therefore did not seek to make any other changes to his ministerial team.
The chief minister said he was pleased that ministers Quayle and Earnshaw welcomed their new roles and the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?Send your comments to newsviews@newsiom.co.imYOUR COMMENTSSo no change there then, changing the minister will make no difference to the fact that there is no tourism in any numbers. We need bodies in beds, bums on seats, people spending large amounts of money, when that happens everybody benefits, but its not going to happen, its too dear to get here, and if they do come there is nothing to do. Its not a change of ministers we need, its a change of government and leadership, when there is a crisis in the UK the Prime Minister recalls Parliament, here its carry on boys enjoy your over long summer holiday,as one MHK put it this week,if the Keys and Tynwald was in session, " I would put down a question ",this would be on the state of these large price rises in energy etc. The news this morning was that South Korea has put a cap on its electricity prices,France has already done it,now what about the Manx Government, they run the electricity output,so this should be no problem,or is there something we don't know that we should know,is the MEA controlled by somebody else like Manx Gas ???
