Investigation into general election continues

An investigation into how September’s general election was conducted continues in public tomorrow (Wednesday)

The Select Committee on the Organisation and Operation of the General Election intends to hear evidence in public at 10.30am.

Evidence will be given at the times shown:

10.30am: Niall Carey, Isle of Man Post Office; 11am: Rob Callister MHK; 11.30am: Winston Taylor, returning officer for Garff; Noon: Jeremy Callin, returning officer for Onchan.

The evidence will be heard in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings, Buck’s Road, Douglas. Members of the public are welcome to attend or to listen via the audio webcast service here.

The committee is considering all aspects of the organisation aof the election and will make recommendations for future practice. It will report by April.

The written evidence published by the committee to date can be found on the committee’s website as can audio recordings and transcriptions of the hearings on December 9 and January 12.
