Bilbo’s brews, bikes and bespoke furniture officially opened its doors to trading at the weekend.
The business is part community shop, welcoming customers in for teas, coffees and refreshments, and part tribute to Manx Grand Prix Junior race winner 2015 Billy Redmayne, who only months later died in an accident at Oliver’s Mount in Scarborough.
The shop, on Tower Street in Ramsey, also offers upcycled furniture, a crafts area and an area featuring some of Billy’s merchandise and memorabilia where visitors can watch bike racing DVDs.
Travelling marshal Jim Hunter, who also spoke at Billy’s funeral service, cut the ribbon at 1pm on Saturday. Initially refreshments are in exchange for a donation. In time the shop hopes to give a proportion of profits to charity.
