Teenager faces 17 drugs charges

A teenager has appeared before Douglas magistrates charged with 17 drugs offences.

Joshua Scott Quirk, of Corrin’s Way, Peel, entered no plea to the charges which include being concerned in bringing cannabis, MDMA, xanax (a class C drug) and cocaine to the island. He is charged with attempting to possess cocaine, xanax, and cannabis and with possessing cannabis and cocaine with intent to supply. Other charges relate to possessing cannabis, MDMA and cocaine. An additional (18th) charge relates to possession of criminal property, specifically £2,671 in cash. The charges relate to a period between June 27 and July 5.

Magistrates’ chairman Alan Gelling refused bail and Quirk, 19, was remanded in custody to reappear on July 13.
