MORE than £2,000 was raised from a Meal and Music evening held at St German’s Cathedral.

The cathedral branch of Mothers’ Union held the event to raise funds for their branch and in particular for a Mothers’ Union Literacy and Financial Education Project in Malawi.

This project has been given a grant of £28,000 from the Isle of Man Government Overseas Aid Committee and Mothers’ Union members on the island are aiming to raise £14,000 to enable the project to go ahead in its entirety.

The cathedral was transformed into a ‘banquet’ setting with tables, chairs and decorations.

A three-course meal was served, the string quartet Con Brio played and piano accompaniment during the meal was provided by Dr Peter Litman, director of music at the cathedral.
