MANSAT, the Onchan-based space and satellite consultancy, has appointed a new board member.
Victor Bernstein was appointed by unanimous vote of the company's shareholders and brings valuable experience gained with several large space industry players. He is a former executive vice-president of Loral Skynet, a satellite service operator, and he has served on the board of Stellat, a French satellite operator that was a joint venture of Europe Star and France Telecom.
Bryan Stott, chairman of the ManSat board, said: 'We are delighted that Victor has agreed to join our main board. His unique experience, extensive knowledge of the satellite industry, his gravitas and, more importantly, bold outlook are most welcome additions as we seek to grow the company.'
Mr Bernstein specialises in corporate and commercial law, has been legal counsel to AT&T Skynet and was instrumental in the acquisition of AT&T Skynet by Loral Space and Communications.
