Island’s second-rate breast care

Have your say

I WRITE regarding the cack-handed hooha Anderson has presided over these past weeks – dedicated breast care surgeon versus general surgeon specialising in breast care.

Apparently we women should be appeased by the fact that said specialist will spend 70 per cent of his or her time dedicated to breast care.

I start to feel a bit apprehensive for general surgery patients who end up with a surgeon who only has 30 per cent of their time to stay relevant in a faculty that is one of the most demanding in any hospital today.

Seems we get second rate whichever way we chop it.

CHRISSIE PARKES,

Lonan.
