I was rather angry with the bitter way Mr Ian Abrahams (Manx Independent letters, August 26) dismissed all the good work Mr Bill Henderson has done during his term of service as MHK for north Douglas.
It was not Mr Henderson who decided the Steam Packet report would not be published – this is decided by a committee.
Mr Henderson is just one member of that committee.
Though it really does stick in my old craw, I’m afraid I have to agree with what Mr Abrahams says in the rest of his letter. It is a very unfortunate situation that has evolved through lack of vision. I don’t see Mr Abraham’s name in the list of candidates.

Editor’s note: Mr Henderson is the chairman of the Office of Fair Trading, which decided not to publish a report on the Steam Packet.
