I had the privilege of holding an exhibition of my paintings at the Erin Arts Centre Port Erin for the month of June, during the ‘Annual Mananan International festival of Music and the Arts.’
The variety of talent brought to the centre this year, on the 40th anniversary of its founding, began with Patricia Routledge as the first of 18 events – all of a very high calibre, and in many cases sold out, proving the Centre once again to be a cultural gem for Port Erin and the island.
Tribute must be paid to the dedicated group of people organising and helping to make this annual festival possible and so enjoyable. However, many comments were made, and written, on the inadequate signposting in Port Erin, making the centre difficult for visitors – and locals – to find.
The Erin Arts Centre deserves better.
