Big Wheel Blues festival

THE Big Wheel Blues Festival committee has finalised its international line-up for what will be the 12th consecutive festival.

The event will be taking place on Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2, in the Laxey Pavilion Ballroom in Laxey Glen Gardens.

The festival committee had previously announced the headline acts for 2010 but have now detailed the full line-up for the evening concerts.

On Saturday, May 1, award winning blues artist Larry Gardner will be joining forces with the Norman Beaker Band as the headline act. Isle of Man band Steamroller will also be performing, as well as UK-based The Aynsley Lister Band.

On the Sunday, Yugoslavian Ana Popovic and her European band will be the headline act. Up-and-coming UK band 24 Pesos and US artist Steve Arvey will also perform.

The Big Wheel Blues Festival is a non-profit event and will be raising money for charity.

To supplement the ticketed evening concerts, the festival committee are organising two free afternoon events featuring music from local blues and roots artists as well as family activities and entertainment.

Tickets for the Big Wheel Blues Festival are available from.bigwheelblues.com at 17.50 per night.
