Tender Trap

Ten Songs About Girls

IF you want an insight into what it’s like being female in this day and age, then you’ve got to check out the new Tender Trap album.

Delivered with a high degree of humour and warmth, these tales cover love, death politics and nothing less than the very nature of existence.

The three female vocals in Tender Trap are delivered with conviction, sometimes alone and sometimes in harmony. But the range of topics covered is equally impressive.

Broken Doll explores the story of a deceased pop idol, while Memorabilia looks at the remnants of a now dead love. Long suffering political wives feature, as does a girl who discovers her boyfriend is a Creationist Christian.

These are stories well worth listening to on a package that gives plenty of pleasure. The thought that goes into it doesn’t stop with the music either. The cover is green, purple and white – the colours of the Suffragettes.

Band leader Amelia Fletcher has this one sewn up – a great record.
