Davy Knowles supports supergroup Chickenfoot

GUITARIST Davy Knowles has been busy mixing with rock royalty recently.

He has been supporting the supergroup Chickenfoot which features guitarist Joe Satriani, singer Sammy Hagar and bass player Michael Anthony – both known for their time in Van Halen – and Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

The latter joined Davy and Back Door Slam on stage at a recent concert in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Meanwhile, Davy now plays Paul Reed Smith guitars. He could formerly be spotted playing a Gibson Les Paul and before that a Fender Stratocaster.

He said in a recent blog he believes PRS 'are the best out there by far'.

Davy, formerly of Port St Mary and now based in Los Angeles, has met Paul Smith himself who let Davy pick out all the wood and components for a new guitar.

'I really can't describe how much of an honour this is and I feel truly blessed about this,' he said.

Meanwhile Davy's latest album, Coming Up For Air, is to be featured on Music Junction, an inflight show for Emirates airlines.
