THE Patterns in Nature photographic exhibition at the Hodgson Loom Gallery above Laxey Woollen Mills is currently exposing the vibrant works of four creative minds.

The free show, which features the latest from Diane McCudden, Jenny Shanley, Hazel Walsh and Pawel Garczynski, continues until next Saturday (October 27).

Maughold resident Diane works mainly with landscapes, although she also enjoys capturing flora and fauna. The photography teacher has a great passion for the outdoors, using natural light in natural settings for her creations, which can be seen islandwide in the form of cards, calendars, prints and canvasses or online at celticmoments.co.uk

Hazel is a photographic artist well known for her images of ageing and decaying buildings. Here the former Sayle Gallery artist-in-residence exhibits a vibrant series of sunset photos – some of which are 15 years old and have been digitally tidied up.

Jenny has been taking photos since she borrowed a two mega-pixel digital camera in Thailand 10 years ago. The combination of wonderful subjects and instant results was a revelation to her. She joined the Isle of Man Photographic Society four years ago and has since entered various competitions, winning cups at club level. This is her first exhibition.

Polish man Pawel fell in love with photography six years ago when he moved to the island with his family. Initially his camera was used to take snaps of his son but he soon upgraded to a DLSR camera and has since been exploring a fondness of macro work, using specific techniques to magnify his images.

The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
