Kit Holmes and Truman Falls for Villa Arcade

TICKETS are now on sale for Kit Holmes in concert with local support from Truman Falls.

The gig takes place on Saturday, August 1 at the Villa Arcade in Douglas and marks the first commercial concert to be held in the newly open space.

Tickets, priced 10, are available by calling the hotline 694555 or in person at the Welcome Centre or Villa and Gaiety box offices.

Bar facilities will be available at the venue on the night.

With her music described as Macy Gray meets Nick Drake, Yorkshire-based Kit has become one of Britain's rising guitar stars.

Her trademark sultry vocals and virtuoso guitar playing have wowed audiences across the UK.

Her performances have included a masterclass at Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, the Anne Frank Awards at the BBC and a headline slot at The International Guitar Festival of Great Britain.

Her lucky break came when she was asked to tour with guitarist John Etheridge four years ago.

Some of her tour dates this year will be with John.

Having started playing the guitar aged 11, Kit has always had an interest in various guitar styles but particularly favours that of acoustic musicians like John Renbourn, Bert Jansch and Leo Kottke.

The gig has been organised by Jonno Gollow of JonnoPromotions.
