A DESIGN team is set to be appointed to refurbish the Laxey MER tram shed.
Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw confirmed that the refurbishment of the shed was a capital project for the department.

In a written Tynwald answer to Bill Henderson (Douglas North), he said the DTL was looking to appoint a design team. Once plans are draw up, the building work will go out to tender.

An order to secure the capital funding of £400,000 is expected to go before Tynwald in January 2008, he added.

Today's Vote

The airport could save £2 million a year in wage bills if it were run as a commercial operation it's claimed. Would you want to see this happen?
Yes. If this money can be saved the government should do it.
No. I wouldn't want to see the airport run on a commercial-basis.
