The stormy conditions caused the Steam Packet Company to cancel its Manannan fastcraft service between the Island and Liverpool on Sunday.

The firm are scheduling a replacement crossing today (Monday).

Ronaldsway Met Office recorded between 25-35mm of rain at low levels, while on higher ground there was almost 45mm.

The strongest winds hit the west and north of the Island.

Gusts of 56mph were recorded at Peel, Ramsey and the Point of Ayre lighthouse.

Forecaster Adrian Cowin said: 'It was a typical wet and miserable November day.

'It's the sort of event you would expect on an autumn day once or twice. But the strong to gale force winds caused a lot of wet leaves to be blown down and block some drains, causing localised flooding on some of the Island's roads.'

It comes after the Met Office recorded a mild but otherwise average October.

The warmest day was October 15, when temperatures reached 16.4C at Ronaldsway. Temperatures often stayed in double figures, even at night.

A total of 79.3mm of rain fell during the month, most of it on October 6 and 9.

The windiest day was overnight on October 24 and 25, when gusts of 53mph hit the Island.

There was only one night – October 7 – with a ground frost.
