THE hunt is still on for the Christmas Day attacker.

Police are continuing their appeal for information in connection with a vicious attack on a Douglas woman that took place as she made her way home in the early hours of Christmas Day.

The 40-year-old victim was assaulted after walking alone via Prospect Terrace, Douglas, and Sydney Street into Oxford Street at about 12.30am.

She was grabbed from behind, knocked to the ground, assaulted and left with what police described as 'significant' facial injuries', including a black eye.

Anyone who may have witnessed this assault or who has any information is urged to contact police on 631212.

Today's Vote

Civil servants are to get a lump sum payment of £200 after a union successfully took this year's pay freeze to arbitration. But government claims it could cause job losses. Is it the right decision?
Yes. It is only fair and the £450,000 cost is not that significant.
No. There are plenty of other things that money could go to and what about those with pay freezes in the private sector.
Don't know. It's only fair if you're not one of those who loses their job as a result.
