DETAILS of the charges brought against the wife of ex-chief minister Richard Corkill have been revealed for the first time.

Julie Corkill, 51, made her first appearance before High Bailiff Michael Moyle in Douglas on Tuesday, where she faced charges of deception and false accounting.

It is the first time the nature of the allegations has been publicly confirmed since Mrs Corkill was charged in connection with the payment of tourism grants for work carried out by building firm GC Construction at her and her husband's Onchan home.

Today's Manx Independent contains full details of the charges.
