A YOUNG couple and their baby had a miraculous escape after a bin wagon crashed into their house in Queen's Drive West of Ramsey.
The family were unhurt as they were in the first floor of the building, it is understood.
The driver of the refuse wagon has been taken to Noble's Hospital, Braddan, for treatment to leg injuries.
Stanley Mount West, Beaumont Road and The Crescent have all been closed and motorists have been advised to use alternative routes.
The roads are due to remain closed until 6pm.
iomtoday.co.im reader Gareth Pinckard, of Westbourne Road, Ramsey, captured this dramatic picture of the scene this morning.
Ramsey Commissioners have confirmed the driver of the refuse wagon was one of their employees, whose injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Commissioners Chairman Geoff Quayle said: 'The incident is being investigated and, at this time, the cause of the accident in not known.
'At present however the commissioners' primary concern is for the health of our employee and the safety and comfort of the family whose home was damaged.'
