STRONTIUM, one of the island’s leading providers of board advisory and non executive director services, has appointed Chris Hall as a director.

After a successful career in global telecommunications, Chris moved to the island in 1997 and was appointed as managing director of Manx Telecom in 1999.

Under his leadership the company established a strong reputation for innovation and delivering industry leading levels of customer service.

In April 2011 Chris stepped up to become non-executive deputy chairman at Manx Telecom and since then he has started his own company, Can Do Consulting, has made several investments and has joined the boards of SiRRAN, a niche global telecoms service provider, and APP55, an innovative e-commerce payments company, and his roles with these companies will continue.

Strontium was founded in 2011 by Duncan Donald, Phil Games, Paul Hotchkiss and Jerry Linehan with the objective of bringing together all the skills required to provide independent advice and support on all aspects of a business to ensure its future success.

In particular, Strontium specialise in advising businesses on obtaining the necessary licences and on providing top quality independent corporate directors or non-executive directors, each of whom are highly experienced and well respected professionals in their own fields with extensive experience of strategy development and corporate governance and who also benefit from having ready access to the expertise and advice of the other Strontium directors.

Chris Hall said: ‘I am absolutely delighted to join such a high calibre and professional team.

‘The Strontium founders are all leading experts in their field, and I have already found it invaluable, and very thought provoking, to work closely with such a superb pool of knowledge and practical experience.

‘It is clear that there is growing recognition globally of the vital importance of good governance and effective board performance and I am really looking forward to working with the Strontium team to help ensure that the island stays at the forefront in both these areas and that we deliver real added value to our current and future clients.’

Phil Games, one of the founding directors of Strontium, said: ‘After a successful first year of operation, we have been looking for some time to bring in an experienced new director to further strengthen the team and to help us to continue to grow the business. We are absolutely delighted that Chris has accepted our offer. His industry expertise, along with his proven strategic and business development skills will add real value to Strontium and our clients.’
