More than 80 sign up to Women in Business network

MORE than 80 people have signed up to a Women in Isle of Man Business Network.

It was formed following an event in November aimed at connecting women in business.

Delegates were asked to take part in a survey, the results of which have been released.

The survey showed that 48 per cent of attendees wished to be actively involved in the network. But 18.5 per cent didn't think it should be exclusive to women.

Networking opportunities, presentation and speaker events, contacts, new business opportunities, promotional opportunities, training and developments events and support and opportunities were all well supported areas of activity of the proposed network. Networking came out top.

Sharing knowledge and experience was also a top area of interest with 85 per cent – showing how networks help people help each other.

The seminar was organised by the Isle of Man Business and Innovation Centre, which is now planning a female focused business incubation programme.
