Radio's Dan Davies to take up government post

MANX Radio presenter Dan Davies is leaving the station to take up the position of business change manager at the chief secretary's office in government.

Reporting to the chief secretary, Mr Davies will lead the further development of 'joined-up' services across government, including online services for the public and business.

Chief secretary Mary Williams said: 'The business change manager will promote service delivery by government that gives priority to the convenience and needs of the customer.

'A more cohesive, corporate approach is also important in terms of efficiency and making the best use of taxpayers' money.'

Mr Davies commented: 'I am looking forward to this challenging and exciting role and to working with colleagues across government to build on what has already been achieved.

'I hope my experience of business change and communication will be helpful to the government as it strives to enhance its services to the public and business community of the Isle of Man.'

Mr Davies, 34, was educated at QEII High School in Peel and has an honours degree in English. The business change manager post is a limited term appointment over two years.
