Rate of minimum wage is reviewed

The rate of the island’s minimum wage is being reviewed.

The Minimum Wage Committee is inviting evidence concerning changes. For adults the wage is currently £6.40.

Economic Development Minister John Shimmin MHK said: ‘The minimum wage represents an important part of government’s aim to protect the vulnerable and make work pay.’

Written submissions should be emailed, by April 25, to: dedemployment@gov.im or posted to Secretary to the Minimum Wage Committee, Nivison House, Prospect Hill, Douglas, IM1 1ET.
