STELLAR DISPLAY FROM SPACE STATION
A SIZZLING stellar display featuring a spaceship docking with the International Space Station (ISS) should be visible from the Island tomorrow night (Friday).
Two bright objects in slow orbit should be visible.
Howard Parkin, press officer of the Isle of Man Astronomical Society, said: A supply rocket launched on Wednesday is due to dock with the ISS tomorrow night, when it will be clearly visible all over the Island.
The first signs of both objects in the sky will two bright lights in the south-south-westerly direction, starting just after 7.30pm.
The objects will move closer together as they orbit the Earth and should stay visibleto the naked eye for a few hours.
Mr Parkin said: Interest in astronomy around the Manx sky has grown after the total lunar eclipse at Christmas, which was brilliantly visible all over the Island.
The meteorology office predicts that although today will have isolated showers and a few bright spells, the evening sky should be clear enough to see the ISS.
