Second World War veteran Hector Duff, 95, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement award at last Thursday’s Awards for Excellence.

Hector, who served in some of the most bitterly fought campaigns of the Second World War, including the D-Day landings, later served for 30 years in the Isle of Man Constabulary and now gives talks to schoolchildren about the war.

He received his award in front of a cheering audience that included many of his family and friends.

Julie Blackburn interviewed him afterwards and you can view the interview here.
