The Isle of Man Chinese Assocation celebrated Chinese New Year with a party at the Majestic restaurant in Onchan.

More than 100 guests attended the celebrations including the association’s patron, Geoff Corkish MLC, who gave a speech.

The afternoon celebrations included a Chinese traditional lion dance, music performed by four young members of the association and a prize raffle.

This year is the year of the horse, according to the Chinese zodiac.

The year of the horse starts from January 31 and runs until February 18, 2015.

The Isle of Man Chinese Association formed in September last year with more than 200 people celebrating the launch.

The group is made up of people whose families originally come from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Macao, and aims to promote the communication and integration of Chinese culture through individuals, businesses and schools on the island.
