What would be your perfect day?

A good result from a TT Race.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Mountaineering and racing bikes.

What is your idea of a perfect meal?

Steak and chips.

Do you have a favourite hangover cure?

Plenty of water and a couple of aspirin before bed.

What is the first job you ever had?

Bread delivery boy.

What vehicle, if any, do you own?

Citroen.

Do you have any irrational fears?

No.

Who do you love?

Family.

Who, or what, do you hate?

Nothing.

What is your oldest item of clothing?

My first suit from Burtons when I was 18 years old — and it still fits.

What newspapers and magazines do you read?

Local papers, The Times, MCN, Civil Engineering (my job).

What websites do you visit?

Local sport, news, Google.

What is your favourite TV programme?

It was Blake's 7.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Fresh Cream and Bookends by Simon and Garfunkel.

What is your most annoying habit?

Ask my friends.

What is your favourite journey?

IOM TT course (on closed roads).

What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?

Running on the fells/mountain.

What is your ultimate ambition?

Finish the Seven Summits (I've done six so far) and that 120+mph TT lap (currently 119mph).

What is your greatest achievement?

Staying alive.
