Inquests were opened yesterday (Monday) into the deaths of two people who were killed on the island’s roads two weeks ago.
Retained fireman William Neil Walker, a father of two, died due to multiple injuries due to, or as a consequence of a road traffic accident.
Police investigations are continuing.
Later, the court heard about the death of physiotherapist from Lonan.
Kathryn Burge, known as Kate, died due to chest and spinal injuries, due to, or as a consequence of, a road traffic accident on August 4.
She was 41 and died while cycling in Kirk Michael.
The full inquests will be heard at a later date.
There is a longer report on the inquiries into Kate Burge’s death in this week’s Manx Independent.
