Three people have been fined by magistrates for failing to pay their television licence.

Cath Purvis, aged 61, of Greeba Road, Douglas, was fined £500, while Andrew Towler, aged 38, of Close Rushen, Castletown, was fined £750.

Neither of them attended court but the matter proceeded in their absence.

Charlie Cairney, aged 39, of Manor Woods, Douglas, attended court and was fined £250, after pleading guilty to the offence.

All three must also pay £125 prosecution costs.
