THE remarkable achievements of two members of Ramsey’s Walk and Talk Club were marked with a special presentation after the pair reached their respective 1,000th milestones.

William and Derek Jones have clocked up 1,000 miles of walking by attending the weekly sessions organised by Manx Sport and Recreation, designed to be a blend between keeping fit and socialising.

William started Walk and Talk in March 2009, and highlighted that the weekly walks around Mooragh Park lake had helped him to maintain a good level of fitness, and meet lots of new friends.

Derek started at the club in 2008, and concurred that the programme has been great for meeting new people, and has also helped him overcome a number of illnesses in recent years.

The presentations were made at Ramsey Rugby Club, the base of the Walk and Talk sessions.
