Parish Day raises funds for Marown playing fields
FUN DAY: Rebecca Lowney, six, is pictured enjoying one of the many activities
MAROWN Parish Day was a successful fundraising event, which helped boost the coffers by more than £3,000.
Children and adults were treated to a number of activities aimed at all ages, including a golf competition.
The annual event was held at Marown Memorial Playing Fields in Crosby and money raised on the day will go towards the upkeep of the playing fields.
Chairman of the organising committee Lorraine Quayle said: ‘The glorious sunny day ensured Marown Parish Day was a tremendous success. This annual event is support by both local and island residents, who come to enjoy a sumptuous afternoon tea provided by the WI, and admire the many wonderful art items and produce displays.
‘The classic and TT motorbike display was a very popular attraction, as was the wonderful children’s choir from Marown Primary School. Overall the success of our parish day is thanks to everyone for attending and to the many helpers and volunteers who made it possible.’
MHKs Geoff Corkish, Howard Quayle and Alan Crowe were among those who attended the event.
