PUPILS at Peel Clothworkers’ School got in the spirit of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by painting murals.

The children presented the murals to Peel Commissioners’ chairman Eric Beale and they are to be displayed at the Weatherglass Corner in Peel, where they will remain for a few weeks.

The pupils spent a lot of time and effort making the art work for the town’s jubilee week, which will include a wide range of events – more details on facing page. The colourful murals included art work of the school and images from around the world, but mostly they have a Peel theme.

Commissioner Ray Harmer is impressed with the hard work the children put into the art work. He said: ‘They are amazing, they are much better than anything I could do. To think that the children are seven, eight, nine and 10 – the quality is amazing.’

It has not yet been decided where their permanent home will be.
