Campsite will now take motor homes

Anyone looking for somewhere to park their motor homes can now use Peel campsite.

The commissioners agreed that a charge of £200 per month would be suitable for the owners to park their motor homes during the summer.

The charge does not include parking the vehicles at the campsite during TT and Manx Grand Prix fortnights.

Town clerk Peter Leadley, queried the overall fee, which did not include the current £4 per night costs for the electrical hook-up point.

It was suggested that this could impact upon the campsite revenue.

Peel commissioners agreed that the current situation should be monitored.

Commissioner Ian Davison said he had spoken to a caravan owner who was willing to pay to move his motor home from Fenella beach car park to the campsite and that other resident owners were interested in taking up this service too.
