MEMBERS of Soroptimist International (SI) Douglas presented a cheque for £550 to Alison Taylor of Drop Inn Ministries Isle of Man.
The money was raised by SI Douglas by regular fundraising events such as coffee mornings, bring-and-buy sales, a garden party and a quiz night. Similar amounts were given to Manx Motor Neurone Disease Association and Childline.
Alison says the money will be used to help open a maternity ward at the clinic that Drop Inn Ministries Isle of Man has helped to provide, together with the Rwandan government at Kabuga.
Soroptimist International is a charitable organisation that works to promote help for women and girls at local, national and international level.
SI Douglas will carry on their fundraising on November 23 at The Pavilion, Noble’s Park, Douglas, with an evening of Festive Sparkle, including demonstrations of festive floral arrangements.
Tickets are available for this event, which is raising funds for Manx Blind Welfare at email@example.com or by calling 813089.
