MAUGHOLD will be celebrating the Royal Wedding of William and Kate Middleton with a ‘Prince and Princess’ Street Party on Saturday, April 30 (the day after the royal couple tie the knot).

Maughold Social Club is arranging the street party event, which will be for the whole community.

Full details will follow once they are finalised.

The club has a number of attractions planned for coming months, starting on Shrove Tuesday (March 8) with Pancake Races at Maughold Village Green at 4pm. All ages can take part, from pre-school through to adults.

Remember to bring your own frying pan!

Refreshments will be served in the church hall afterwards. There will be a charge of £1 for a cup of tea and a pancake plus an additional charge of 50p for an extra pancake.

Tree planting will take place at The Corony on Sunday, March 12. Everyone who wishes to attend should please meet at the Corony for 2.30pm. If possible, bring a spade and wrap up in warm clothing!

Pam Kerruish will talk about her experiences as a VSO volunteer in Tajikistan at Dhoon Church hall on Thursday, March 31 at 8pm. Admission £2.

A Walking Treasure Hunt will be held on Easter Monday (April 25). Details of venue and time to be confirmed.
