The sixth annual Julie Brew Memorial Walk, held in October, raised £2,100.

The sponsor money raised was divided between Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation and St John Ambulance (First Responders).

Julie was a popular Peel hairdresser who died in 2008 due to a previously undetected heart condition.

Julie’s family thanked Western Athletic Club officials, marshals, timekeepers, water stationers, walkers and also Peel Football Club for the use of its clubhouse and those who advertised the event.

Special thanks went to those who raised, and gave, sponsor money and also to St John Ambulance for being present on the day.
