JACK, the pantomine cow and the dame from this year’s Peel Pantoloons’ Jack & the Beanstalk production turned out to switch on the lights in Peel.

Saturday afternoon’s switch on in Athol Place, organised by the town’s commissioners, drew a large crowd.

The panto has been taking place at the Centenary Centre this week with the last performance due to take place this Saturday evening.

The switch on of the town’s festive lights was attended by a number of young people, including those who came bearing lanterns that they had made the same day at a Christmas workshop at the House of Manannan in Peel.

Santa also attended the handed out goodies. In addition Peel’s Geoff Birkett was there selling hot chestnuts and Christmas chocolate apples from his stall in Athol Place with all monies raised going to island charities.
