Guests at the Corrin Hall, Peel, enjoyed a serenade by St German’s Cathedral’s director of music Dr Peter Litman, during its Soup, Sandwich and Serenade.
The event was organised by the Peel branch of the Mothers’ Union.
Tricia Craig, of the Peel branch of the Mothers’ Union, was delighted with the turnout.
The event raised £319.
She said: ‘Soup sippers thoroughly enjoyed the varied programme of classical, easy listening and church music. It provided a wonderfully restful and melodic accompaniment, to their lunch.’
Tricia explained that the money raised will be used to buy children’s Bibles, crosses and candles which are given to infants at their baptisms.
As well as music played by Dr Litman, guests were treated to music by Clive Davenport and Tim Ashbridge.
