Bike lovers will revel in the prospect of getting the first public glimpse in the island of the WK 650i twin Chinese bike.
It will make its TT debut in June,at an exhibition at the Erin Arts Centre, in Port Erin, running from May 8 to June 10.
The bike will appear alongside a Ducatti 249 cc Junior, a Ducatti 450 Senior and a Moto Guzzi 1000 cc Spada, all on May 10 (from 10am to 8pm).
On the same day, there will be a display of TT trophies (from 4pm to 7pm).
The special display is part of an exhibition of action photographs by Graham Nutt and line drawings by Steve Ryecroft of TT legends such as Joey Dunlop, John McGuinness and Guy Martin.
The images form a TT legends calendar, that will also be on sale at the exhibition (for £9.99), as well as at Tesco, Road and Track, at Bushy’s and also at Promenade T Shirt shops in Douglas.
Organiser Graham Nutt said: ‘I teamed up with Steve Ryecroft, he was staying with us … we decided to do a calendar, we thought it would be a little bit different rather than just photographs.’ Graham, who worked for Island Photographics, has taken around 10,000 images of bikes over the years.
He sells them in a gazebo by Bushy’s tent in Loch Promenade during the TT.
He said there are 1,000 calendars for sale and they include ‘iconic images, they are hand picked’.
The line drawings will be displayed with the photographs they depict.
Organising the exhibition has taken ‘an awful lot of organisation,’ said Graham.
