Guests were treated to a community picnic by the youth of the town.

Peel Youth Centre, off Shore Road, opened its for the whole community to enjoy a picnic, following on from the centre’s successful VE Day anniversary event.

Through staging different events the Youth Centre hopes to bring the community into the club, which in turn leads to all ages interacting with each other.

Transport was provided for guests who required it and everyone at the picnic enjoyed home cooked food.

Val Goldie, from Peel Youth centre, said: ‘The team at Peel Youth Centre had another amazing day.

‘Bringing together old and young for a community picnic.

‘The day went really well even though we ended up eating inside the club due to intermittent showers.’

Val thanked the following organisations Laxey Glen Mills, Isle of Man Creamery, Muffins Bakery in Peel, Mace in Peel, the Spar shop in Peel, Mr B. Goldie for making place mats, Heron & Brearley Brewery, and Mr W. Killey for the new potatoes.

Val added: ‘We would also like to thank our families for their continued support in all our activities and all the children and teenagers who helped on the day.’

She also thanked everyone who attended the picnic.

The next event organised by Peel Youth Centre will be a Manx Style Christmas.
