School meal price rise
PRIMARY school meals will cost an extra 10p to £1.95 from September.
Schools catering manager Chris Wilson said the rise was due to ‘the steady increase in food price inflation’ over the last two years.
The service serves more than 600,000 meals a year.
Children of parents in receipt of Income Based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employed Person’s Allowance or Income Support are eligible for free school meals.
