A TRAINING course to raise awareness of diabetes has been funded by the Manx Diabetic Group.

The course was delivered over three days at Noble’s Hospital and was aimed at the staff of care homes and other institutions who may have diabetic people in their care.

Chairman of the Manx Diabetic Group, Alison Woods said: ‘Each of the three one day courses was fully subscribed which was wonderful.

‘This was a non-medical course designed to raise awareness of the needs of diabetic people. We also wanted to encourage networking amongst carers across all areas, including prison staff, the police and local agencies. We’re very pleased that it’s been a success.’

Cumbria-based dietitian Katrina Brown delivered the training course, which was organised by Diabetes UK.
