Norovirus wards re-open
NOBLE’S Hospital has re-opened one ward after the norovirus outbreak and it’s planning to open two more soon.
Two wards in Noble’s Hospital (ward 9 and ward 20), and Grainagh Court, which is a mental health care facility, were closed at the end of last week due to an outbreak of norovirus gastroenteritis.
Grianagh Court was completely re-opened last night.
Ward 20 will re-open later today, and Ward 9 by tomorrow evening, assuming there are no patients newly-diagnosed with norovirus.
The Department of Health thanked all visitors and patients for co-operating with the ward staff in implementing procedures to reduce the spread of the virus.
It also thanked the staff in the wards.
