Heavy rain causes road closures

THE wet weather continues to play havoc with the Island’s roads and infrastructure.

Mill Road in Peel is closed due to flooding and Leigh Terrace in Douglas is passable with care.

This afternoon’s Manannan sailing to Liverpool, and the return journey, have both been cancelled. The Steam Packet has taken the decision not to sail the fast craft to Liverpool at 5.45pm or back again at 10pm.

The 7.45pm Ben My Chree sailing to Heysham is still scheduled to go.

Both Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway services have been suspended for the day.

There have also been power outages in Greeba, East/West Baldwin, Crosby, Union Mills and Marown.

We’ll update this story as soon as more news comes in.
