A total of £2,576,258 has been spent on new buses and vans in the current financial year, Community, Culture and Leisure Minister Chris Robertshaw told the House of Keys.

Replying to a question from Kate Beecroft (Lib Van, Douglas South), he said the price of the buses was confidential.

Six Mercedes Citaros, two Mercedes City Sprinter 45s, six Volvo Wright double deckers and two Vauxhall Vivaro vans (one for the Wildlife Park) had been delivered.

Six Streetlites had been upgraded.

He said: ‘Vehicles were within the budget agreed by Tynwald and the business case agreed by Treasury.’
