Helicopter Crash near Windy Corner

An inquest into the death of a businessman who died in a helicopter crash during TT in 2015 has recorded a verdict of Accidental Death.

Matthew Chapman, aged 48, of Tathwell, died from multiple injuries after the crash near Windy Corner on June 6 last year.

Coroner of inquests John Needham had opened the inquest in June 2015.

Mr Needham ruled that Mr Chapman died due to multiple injuries in a helicopter crash, due to the rotor becoming separated from the aircraft, due to flying in hilly terrain in gusty winds.
