Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an act of vandalism in Ramsey.
At about 12.10am on Saturday, police followed up a report of damage at the Spar Shop, 19 Parliament Street.
It was found that one of the two external glazed notice boards (2ft x 4ft’) had been damaged. The notice board displays
About five minutes later a man was arrested near Market Square, Ramsey, on suspicion of causing this damage.
He was suffering from a serious hand injury. He was arrested, but then he was immediately taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Police at Ramsey have already spoken to a number of witnesses, but would be keen to speak with anyone who was in the vicinity of the Spar shop (also known locally by the names of its previous incarnations, Pickwicks, Newsmag, or Courier office) around midnight.
Sergeant Andy Kneen said: ‘Although officers, who were on foot patrol in the area, made a early arrest, we would still like to hear from anyone who was in the area of the shop just after midnight.’
