A meeting place for bikers has been established in the heart of India – and it’s called ‘6,000 miles from Isle of Man’.

The cafe has been set up in Bangalore by founder Anil Kumar, a huge fan of the Isle of Man TT Races.

Bangalore is 6,000 miles away from the Isle of Man, as you may have guessed, hence the name.

Anil reveals how his idea came about: ‘The Isle of Man TT is the epitome for any biker across the world.

‘I’ve been riding all types of bikes for more than 20 years, since my teens. I’ve toured the length and breadth of my country on motorcycles.

‘In India most passionate bikers hangout at their bike mechanic’s garage to discuss riding and bikes – this gave us the idea that we needed to set up a place for all the bikers in Bangalore City to meet. We have a coffee shop, we show biker movies, TT videos, MotoGP and so on.

‘The lounge is in its early days yet so it’s too early to predict how we’ll do, we have an annual membership set up and we had 40 members join in the first four days, so I’m sure this place will rock.

‘We don’t have the facilities to watch the TT live out here unfortunately but we’re planning to organise a trip to the island from the lounge.

‘We also started an academy three years ago called Apex Racing Academy and we have more than 600 students who have graduated from that.’
