Many children around the Isle of Man will be receiving a Christmas present thanks to donations made by Barclays Wealth and Investment Management employees.

They have bought gifts to be handed out to children living in care and foster homes, or in homes where family support workers will be assisting this Christmas.

The appeal led to 78 gifts being donated for distribution to children before Christmas Day.

Barclays Wealth and Investment Management HR business partner Heidi Dalgleish, who led the appeal, said: ‘Christmas is a happy time for the majority of children and families, but for some it is a difficult time because of their circumstances.

‘We have worked closely with Social Services to identify a number of young people Island-wide and asked our colleagues to donate a gift to help make this Christmas just a little happier.

‘I’ve been delighted by the response from Barclays Wealth and Investment Management employees, and I hope their thoughtfulness will make sure it is a merry Christmas.’
