Beer and cider festival at Vagas

FOLLOWING the resounding success of the CAMRA real ale festival at Douglas Masonic Hall in April – which saw the crowds drink reserves dry within the first two days of the three day event – Vagabonds Rugby Club hope to quench the thirst of the island’s ale fans with their own beer and cider festival next weekend.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 28, from 2pm to 10pm and Sunday, July 29, from 2pm to 8pm, at Vagabonds clubhouse.

On offer will be a selection of more than 20 beers and a range of ciders, as well as whisky tasting and local produce stalls. There will also be food available all day and live music on both days.

All proceeds will be going to the club – which fields two men’s teams, one women’s side and a youth section – to continue to develop its new facilities.

Vagabonds Rugby Club sits next to Douglas Royal and Corinthians football clubs near Noble’s Hospital at Ballafletcher, Braddan. To reach the clubhouse, take the first right off the main Noble’s Hospital driveway, or take the bus to the hospital and make the two-minute walk to the rugby club.
